Planning commission turns down tattoo shop
Rowlett planning and zoning commissioners this
week voted against a proposal for the construction
of a tattoo shop on Rowlett Road between Lakeview
Parkway (State Highway 66) and Main Street. Commissioner
Greg Peebles said he didn't want such a business
so close to the city's biggest intersection and
the reconstructed Main Street. Commission chairman
Sean Kirk said he thought the business could attract
crime. The decision can be appealed to the City
Council, but Rowlett planner Teresa Biddick said
she was unsure whether it would be.
